Mi$$ Izreal
Born to Nigerian-American mother, and Nigerian father. December 4th was the day and 2:35 p.m. the time when screams could be heard at Barnes-Jewish Hospital St.Louis, Missouri. Joys and pains of a first time mother by the name of Nya. "She was a good baby, and a great child because she didn't cry much", Nya use to say in her soft spoken (Micheal Jackson lol) voice. Nya was the eldest of six and her husband, Ernest had 20 other siblings. Ironically, Izreal was the only child the couple had. Soon after Izreal's birth, the new family of three would travel to live in the motherland. Izreal returned to the U.S. with her parents when she was 5 years old. Izreal excelled in school and was placed in gifted and talented students class. Ernest was granted a scholarship and played football and tennis in multiple U.S. universities, then unexpectedly Ernest would return to the motherland to care for his mother and work as a civil engineer, just before completing his doctorate. Nya known for her jetset ways, left living in paris and the motherland remained in the U.S.A. to raise young Izreal.
Nya worked as a professor, author, and motivational speaker, and remained overseas without Izreal's father. Nya loved fashion and encouraged her daughter to read fashion magazines from an early age and to experiment with all things beauty: nail polish, dressing up in trendy children's clothing of the 90's, wearing gold jewelery. Izreal took her first art classes while living as an only child in Burlington, VT. The art classes of jewelery making, t-shirt design, pottery and water color. This was Nya's way of keeping Izreal busy while she worked. Young Izreal had her first experience on camera after attending an event hosted by a former Miss U.S.A. beauty pageant queen. A casting director asked Nya to allow Izreal to be in a commercial advertisement for a carpet store after admiring how well spoken she was for her age. On the set of the commercial there was a green screen and a reddish carpet to simulate a flying arabian carpet! These events sowed the first seed's of artistic expression into Izreal's imagination. Just years later a traumatic incident would lead to a dramatic change that would take place.
Izreal lost her beloved mother going into her freshman year of high school. Nya suddenly became ill and went into a coma and passed on mother's day. Izreal often would write poems, songs, and create paintings based on photography to heal her broken heart. These seeds later blossomed into the beginning of a career as burgeoning exotic new face in the world of entertainment media and fashion arts.
By age 16 Izreal had already graduated high school, and was 5'9" and 118 lbs. Izreal hoped and dreamed of becoming a thespian or fine artist. Her family strongly discouraged it. Hoping to please everyone Izreal put her artistic ways behind her and enrolled in university. Izreal became brokenhearted and disheartened with where destiny had taken her. Izreal jam packed her schedule with full-time courses, three part-time jobs, campus radio show, and internships. Izreal began having severe fatigue from insomnia, and after passing out on campus she realized she needed to do some soul searching. Izreal did not understand why she could not sleep. While believing and staying in positive focus a window of opportunity opened and Izreal jumped out...
New Characters came from the woodwork, and old characters were re-surfaced as catalyst for Izreal to begin searching for what she knew was in the horizon. Izreal found herself in roles that she fit into. She knew she was in the right place at the right time while on the red-carpet or on set and in the studio creating with other like minds. The red carpet especially, served as a beautiful reminder of the freedom of artistic, creative expression that was shared and nurtured by her mother. When asked to explain her goals and motivations to continue in the challenge of breaking into and maintaining a (industry) career. She pauses and her pretty brown eyes twinkle and shine with a curious smile. It's quite obvious she is full of a burning desire and passion. Izreal replies in a whispering voice of femininity, "refining character, Its about embracing growing pains." She then says, "Its totally being able to see one's self in all people. In all honesty we all have more similarities than differences..one heart, mind, and 5 senses pushing us to truly experience life in it's fullness... Life's journey makes us who we are today". "Isn't it?", she asks in her delicately accented tone.
